The Untouchables
This sugar is intense, and it makes no sense,
Out in the open, they push without pretense.
The sweet white crystals, as deadly as pistols,
More potent than smack, the addiction's a fact.
Headaches and sickness, it keeps pulling us back,
We ingest it until we fall, entranced by its thrall.
Its omnipresence reckons, even as kids, it beckons,
A treat for the young, how did this concept get sprung?
Who cares? They can't touch us, no matter our fuss,
Everyone loves our drug, harmless, they trust.
The sweetness makes this ship sail,
And the money keeps us from jail.
They can't touch this, no matter the cost,
The drug of choice, a household boss.
That's right, it’s OK to feed it to your young,
Their perfections at birth will soon be gone.
The sweet allure of this drug, so smug,
Highlights the untouchable's unyielding hug.
From cereal to snacks, it's sugar they pack,
An addiction that's legal, no need to look back.
The government's complicit, with a voice in this mission,
As we succumb to the cravings, losing all inhibition.
We fall prey to the sugar, with its grip so tight,
Blinded by sweetness, losing sight of the fight.
Let’s wake up to this menace, break free from its chain,
For the health of our children, we must bear the strain.
The sugar-coated lies, we must now unveil,
For a healthy future, let’s rewrite this tale.
